I’ve committed to cycling across America, because I seemingly enjoy ambitious plans and immediate regret. This blog is where I document how that’s going—training triumphs, spectacular misjudgments, gear that mostly works, people far more competent than me, and the occasional existential crisis that comes from pedaling hundreds of miles with nothing but your thoughts and questionable snack choices.

Where Words Fall Short

Sometimes the ride speaks louder through an image. This section features moments that made me stop—some beautiful, some mildly concerning to passing motorists. A few were planned, most were not, and at least one was the result of underestimating a hill and overestimating my quads. But hey, if you’re going to pause in the middle of nowhere gasping for air, you might as well take a photo.
