How it All Started

Wild Spokes began somewhere between injury, burnout, grief, and the quiet realization that I had spent years helping everyone else move forward while slowly losing momentum myself. Running had become impossible because of foot injuries. Work kept expanding. My body hurt more than it should have. And after losing my mother, I started thinking differently about time, health, and what it means to build a meaningful life before it slips by unnoticed.

Then I got on a bike.

At first, cycling was simply the thing I could still do without pain. But over time, it became something much bigger: a way to rebuild strength, clear my mind, reconnect with the world, and rediscover parts of myself that had been buried under responsibility and routine. Wild Spokes is where I document that process — the rides, the setbacks, the lessons, the photography, the recovery, the long roads, and the ongoing attempt to age with curiosity, resilience, and a little perspective. I don’t have everything figured out. This is simply the honest record of trying.
